Weekenders

We spent the weekend soaking up the Fall. I am definitely missing fall in Utah because there really is nothing like it, but the fall here is a special kind of different and we are loving it.

Friday //
photo Ilan_zps084176b0.jpg I spent the morning working (aka playing) with the cutest little boy at the park. We walked through the insides of beautiful neighborhoods. There is something unique about being immersed in history everywhere you go. I love all of the old, brick buildings from the 1800s.

Kyle spent the morning at the Newseum, which is amazing. He was on the fake news with two of our friends and I thought that this needed to be shared.

Gettysburg. Amazing. The town is gorgeous and many of the houses have bullet holes and canon shells in them from the battle. The air was crisp and the leaves were crunchy. There was moss everywhere. The open fields were definitely a much-needed break from the city.

Be still my heart. These crunchy leaves are begging to be crunched (even if they are in the cemetery, eek).

Apparently touching this guy's nose gives you good luck, so maybe rubbing your nose on his is like five times more good luck? Yeah.

Who knew the Museum Store would have so many amazing hats? And why did I not buy this one? Kicking myself.

Sunday //

We visited the Washington National Cathedral for a Frederiksborg women's chorus concert and then an evensong service. The sound of the choirs' voices was touching and spiritual and the stained glass in the cathedral is gorgeous.

We sat in our own special pew at the high altar with our kind friends, the armrests. Worth it.

Hope you had an amazing weekend.
